Tanzeil Moustapha
Tanzeil Moustapha is a first-generation Sudanese-Canadian woman, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Film and Media Production from Humber College. In 2022 alone, she directed a student documentary, “Just Another Day in L.H.”, a love letter for her soon-to-be gentrified neighbourhood, and worked as a Production Intern for the Canadian lifestyle show, Cityline. During her time at Cityline, she pitched and co-produced a segment about the viral social media trend, “#ThatGirl”. In addition to this, Tanzeil was the first-ever recipient of Cityline’s Scholarship for BIPOC Women and received one on one mentorship with the host the show, Tracy Moore. Tanzeil completed writing the first draft of her thesis project, a feature-length screenplay entitled, Night Show. She is currently a Programs intern with Black Women Film! (BWF). Tanzeil hopes to create films that tell nuanced stories of underrepresented people and showcase all of her intersections as a Black Muslim woman. Finally, create conversations around diversity and inclusion, in all forms.
